unable to open bonnet, skoda octavia?

The bonnet release is prone to breaking. There is a plastic stud inside the release handle of the Mk2 and can snap leaving the handle in your hand. You may be able to pop it back on but eventually the plastic teeth in the handle gets worn so not able to pull the cable. If this is the case you will have to remove the trim to get at the mechanism. Once in, mine was so stiff I had to use a Mole Grip to turn it. Having to buy new release mechanism and handle. (About £30 genuine parts from Bickerton Skoda parts)

Pull the bonnet release from inside the car - go to the front grille and expect to see a trigger that has suddenly appeared. Pull this and lift the bonnet.
