Bought a new tesco own brand webcam and it seems to work fine and when turned on I can see the pic great but how do I connect to someone else over the web?? My dad lives abroad and I would like us to be able to see eachother when we speak.

You both need to join a social networking type site and declare one another as friends - the site's servers will accept your log on and you can "allow" another person to view your camera - similarly the other person needs to do the same thing if you are to view them. You use nicknames to identify yourselves when joining and on line.

Yahoo and others offer this as a free service I believe. It may take you about 15 minutes or so to go through the joining process.
