Ariston Margherita 2000 washing machine making lots of noise?

My Ariston Margherita 2000 washing machine is making lots of noise during spin cycle. The level of noise has gradually increased during the past few weeks. DOes anyone have any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it ?

if it is more like a squeaking noise I would say it might be from the ball bearings supporting the shaft with the pulley. They can be replaced by any service technician. My ball bearings failed 4 weeks before the 5-year warranty to expire... lucky me...
