how do i check if a fuse has blown?

i have a ford focus zetec 2002 which has no reverse light and no number plate light,the bulbs are fine,how do i check a fuse has not blown and which fuse do i check.

take 1 fuse out at a time and check the small rod inside the fuse is not snapped, it should be solid from 1 side to the other.
