Caravan Hot Water won't work?

Water pump in barrel outside works fine and draws cold water when turn cold tap on.

When I turn hot tap on nothing happens - no water at all?? Have tried blowing down tap in case is an air lock but to no avail.

Where does hot tank draw water from?? Any any idea why hot tap when turned does not give me any water at all - still trying to fettle this hot water issue - hot water tank gets hot and electric cuts out when reaches thermostat temperature but don't know if hot water tank has any water in it??

Had a similar problem. Turned out a Bee had made a nest in the cold water feed pipe inside the heater! It had got in through the drain plug hole. Found bee and larvae inside. Remove the hot water pipe from the heater and check water comes out of the nozzle when the pump runs, if nothing comes out the blockage is in the heater unit. Cold feed inside heater is quite small and easily blocks. You will need to remove the heater and dismantle it. Make sure you have 2 new O rings before you start. There's one large one at the front and one small one behind the rear nut. Should take about 3 hours.

We also have this problem. From reading the other answers I can gather that it is a stuck non return valve as the pump is running when the hot taps are on but no hot water coming out of either kitchen or bathroom taps. I have also replaced the micro switch which hasn't solved the problem. I hope this answer has helped further with this problem. My next question is, how do you replace a non return valve on the hot water cylinder!!!

I have the same problem. The cold water flow is brilliant and I get nothing out of the hot water tap. When the cold tap is on you can hear the pump working but you don't hear anything when you switch on the hot taps. I went to our local caravan dealer today and they said I cannot get another non return valve (ours is white) they only supply the black ones. Does anyone know if these are compatible?

Sorry we are totally new to all this so any help is much appreciated.

we have the same problem no hot water coming out of hot taps we have canged the valve so it might not be the non return valve that is not working

I've got the same issue, and some digging around on the net has pointed me in the direction of replacing the 'non return valve' which is located behind the drain bung on the bottom corner of the heater unit.

The new valves are very cheap (less than £10) and easy to fit. They are easy to find on ebay if you type in carver non return valve in the search description.

Good luck !!

I assume we are talking kitchen hot tap!
Have you a basin and taps in toilet if so does hot flow ok from that tap? If the answer is YES! then it sounds like the micro switch on the kitchen tap needs replacing. Can't advise how as never done one and taps vary. On most taps you can hear a low 'click' as you turn taps on so listen for the 'click' on the hot tap to compare turn on the cold tap first listen to that 'click' as the micro switch engages, turn it off then turn on the hot tap and listen for the same 'click'.
Each tap has it's own micro switch. Some times damp makes them malfunction so play a hair dryer on the hot tap, assuming the switch is under the tap head, it sometimes gets them going again.
