My Ryobi RY30004A starter rope will not recoil. ?

I have removed the shaft assembly. How do I remove the Drum & Connector, part #PA01613, so I can remove the Starter Housing, part # PA01641, and gain access to the starter assembly?

You need to fit a 9/64 hex tool down the shaft and that will unscrew it off. I am having the same problem and having a heck of a time with it.
