vauxhall corsa diesel?

went to start car and it was dead nothing at all any ideas
dennis, April 2009
Got a similar problem with wifes corsa. She had been shopping. Returned to car, tried to start it, nothing. No power totally dead, lights, radio, indicators, hazzards, all dead. Fiddled with -tive lead to battery power came back on. Battery terminals ok, no rust/corrosion. Is there a common place where earth wire may be broken?.

Also engine sounds a little rough like its not firing on all cylinders, if thats the best way to describe it.

Flat battery or loose/broken earth wires.
