l have lost the chip from the key?

l have lost the chip from the key, how can l start the car without it

I forgot to add the cheapest way.
If you have a spare key just take the chip out of that and tape it to the side of the ignition switch!
It will make the car a bit easier to steal, but what are the odds.........?

I'll guess it's a Vauxhall !!!
Expensive way - go to the dealer, buy a new key, pay to get it re-programmed.

Cheap way - go to scrapyard, get a chip from an old key, phone round the independent garages for a price to get it re-programmed.
If you have a laptop you can do it yourself using op-com software. Copy and paste the following URLs for more info.

Either way you will need the 'car pass' card with the security codes. If you dont have it you'll have to pay Vauxhall for a new one, £20/£30.

It depends on the car and you don't say what is is.
