Briggs and Stratton 7hp ignition coil (with points)?

Help!!!
I cannot get a spark from the plug, i have come to the conclusion that it maybe the ignition coil or the points under the flywheel!!
I think it is a 1980's 7hp engine model number 170707

Can any one help me with any procedures/tests i can do to determine what part i need to replace and where i might buy them from. (i live in midlands area, Staffordshire)

yes the older ones are under the flywheel, use a large pipe wrench to get a grip and turn the ratchet mechansim for the pull start clock wise (reverse threads) and hold the fly wheel

then lightly tape the flywheel as you turn it, I did this with 2 roto tillers and they came right off
