i have a corsa 1ltr 3 cylinder v reg it starts up and revs up and down on its own.

I think your timing chain may be going... I have a nissan micra the new shape, and oneday it would do that... I ignored the issue and it just got worse, sometimes I car would just stop the engine whilst I was driving !!!!!!!

turned out to be the timing chain
