If your drier isn't actually heating up, did your 'engineer' check to see if the heating element was coming on? With the dryer on, and running for a while, the air coming out of the vent should feel warm and damp, and the clothes inside should feel likewise. If they aren't, it sounds like the element has failed, or a thermostat is keeping the element switched off. May I suggest that you get someone else to call, who knows what they are talking about?
