engine management light on?

i have a vauxhall corsa 1999 1.0 engine management light keeps coming on when this happens car looses power. when this occurs i have to drop down a gear and light goes out. I have been told it could be the crank shank sensor that needs changed. can this be correct and if so how easy is it to do

Sounds more like a faulty air flow sensor.
It is located on the air intake right after the air filter.
Quite easy to change.
Check the part number on the old one because there are a number of different sensors for Corsa. You might have to remove it to check, at least the number on the sensor in my Corsa B is facing down.

Hi this happened to mine. and iv just answered this on a different question. it is easy enough to change the sensor but its where the cable runs to i dont know. take it to a garage ASAP. and this is creating fault codes on your ecu.
