when i press the button on the fob the red light comes on the indicators flash and you can hear a click but the car wont lock/unlock. i have tried the fuse. help please

this might not work on the newer models, i have a 97 vectra and need to reset the key fob every now and again. insert the key into the ignition and turn the key onto the first position (do not start car) then press the lock button & unlock button on the key fob until the doors lock, this should reset the central locking. hope this helps.
