smoke from exhaust?

on start up i have a lot of smoke from the exhausts also i get it if i put my foot down hard. I have a jaguat xj8 3.2

It could be worth having a compression test done as you could be looking for cylinder wear here, or maybe its the valve stem oil seals? Both can account for high oil consumption - the valve seals particularly if the smoke is worse first thing in the morning.
