Fisher & Paykel 5.5 Smart Drive Excellence Washing Machine?

The problem is that on reaching the rinse (or if advanced to spin) the pump pumps out all water but appears to keep running as if whatever detects that all water is pumped out is still suggesting to the system that water remains. The bowl moves one way then the other a small amount but will not progrees to the spin cycle

If no fault code coming up & there is a continuous bowl check going on then you may have a faulty motor controller. Unless you have access to another control box (must be the same colour as your one) which you can put in and try before the expense of buying one, then you really need someone with the correct test equipment to check the motor, RPS board, lid & out of balance switch etc. to eliminate those possibilities. Otherwise you buy a controller, put it in and the fault is still there & you waste your money because they won't take it back once it has been fitted.

No beeping. Have tried it again in the spin mode, it pumps and moves back & forward for 1.5 to 2 minutes, pause and starts again. Have left it to do this 4 times but no beeping or lights coming on

It is normal for the drain pump to run continuously during the first rinse and on the final spin it will stop about 1 minute after the bowl starts to spin & then start again at the end of the spin for a few seconds. The movement each way is also normal. That is the controllers way of checking that the bowl has locked in to position before spinning. Either the bowl has not locked in properly or there is some other fault telling the controller not to start the spin. Does it start beeping & if so what lights come on & which are off along the top row? That will tell me the error code to look up for you.
