the power is on and thermostate is set on 5 lowest setting but freezer not dropping below -8 and fridge temp is no lower than 12 degrees

the black cylinder is the compressor. its normal for it to be too hot to touch.

I have this model too, 20 months old exact same problem I'm furious I paid as much as I could afford at the time for this and expected it to last for years.

We have exact same fridge/freezer and problem has occurred in ours too, temp is on max 5 but fridge/freezer are not cold enough, also build up of ice in freezer section which we removed by defrosting but fridge is back to same problem day after. The black cylinder at the bottom behind the fridge is nearly too hot to touch and we are worried about potential fire hazard do have taken to switching it off if we are going out all day.We have only had fridge for just over a year. Can anybody offer any clues? thanks!
