Hotpoint VTD00 tumble dryer stalling?

I have a Hotpoint VTD00 tumble dryer which over time has been less capable of turning a load. Will stall, even with light load, and emit a load buzz and start to overheat. Now refuses to rotate and just sits there buzzing and getting hot. Any ideas ?
