Hi Jean,
I have a similar problem. My Indesit dishwasher (approx 4yrs old) is broken and I think it's the circulation pump. It appears that there are two pumps, one to empty the machine and one to circulate the water during the wash cycle. They are both in the bottom of the machine. The circulation pump is the big one in the middle. To get at it, you need to drop the base plate off of the machine and turn the machine upside down. To do that you need to undo screws holding the base plate and remove the front "kicker panel" below the door. There's also a couple of wires you have to pull off from a microswitched float attached to the base plate. You can get at these by unclipping a plastic panel on the main frame behind the kicker panel.
When turning the machine on its side and then on its top, do it slowly so that you can control the mopping-up of "small" amounts of water that come out! ... and make sure you are un-plugged from the mains!!!
Have fun...
