how do you fix an oil sump that you cant take off

Try using a small self tapping screw as a temporary fix to a pin hole, adding a fibre washer will help seal.

Hi John, I managed to do a temperary fix to 2 pin holes in an Hyundai sump. First drain the oil out, then clean the whole sump area, make sure its free of oil and dirt. Open the holes a little then apply a sealant such as window seal or bath seal (I used black sealant) to the holes and smear over the area a little. Leave to dry for 4 hrs at least. Refill the engine oil. This should hold until you can get a new sump and have it fitted.
