my golf does not start up it turns over but there is no spark coming from the ignition coil, also the side lights are staying on constantly even when the key is removed and when the fuses are removed

hi mate, my golf is doing the same but with out the light thing!mine starts and runs fine untill i turn it off then i get no spark.ive changed the lead and coil but its still doing it?ive been told it only leaves 2 things, ecu or immobiliser.going two try the cheaper 1 first witch is geting the immobiliser turned off.ill let u know how i get on.steve
