HAndbrake light is permanently on?

The handbrake light on my Y Reg Ka is now permanently on having started intermitently. Checked linkages and all seem fine. Does it indicate a wider braking problem

fords encorperate the handbrake light with a brake fluid level indicator, if the light is perminantly on you will proberbly find its a simple case of low brake fluid!!! easy!

Hi David, the handbrake light is also a low brake fluid warning, so it might mean the front pads and rear shoes are low causing the brake pistons to be further out so causing a low brake fluid situation

either the handbrake switch is faulty or the brakes are worn and need replacing.get it checked as better to be safe than sorry.
