How to fix an Timex Indiglo?

I have a timex indiglo that had a new battery fitted, and we tested the battery, but apart from the indiglo light that comes on when i press the button, the watch doesn't work.
I am wondering if the watch is broken but this can't be the case since I haven't worn it a lot.
Does anyone know what it might be?
Please let me know.

I just saw your message and I am a watchmaker/repairer. Your watch may have had a dead battery for a short period and caused the mechanism to (stick/freeze). It may require a cleaning and oiling or at best a jolt from a demagnitizer coil which will spin the hands and release the (stick) wheels. It is pretty common in watches that the battery has died and isn't replaced right away. If your light is coming on then there is voltage going through the watch. Other than this it can be a coil that may be damaged upon openig the watch(specially with a screwdriver). Mike
