my moped wont start?

i have a peugeot speedfight 1997 LC model , the first day i got it i cut out after 20 seconds of riding i moved the HT lead and it started back up , it then cut out again a week later although to the current day i have only covered 77 kilometres it then broke down again but after 10 minutes or so started back up , and again but i then i put in a new spark plug and it started up again , it has now broken down and wontstart back up again i am not sure what it might be but the spark is sparking , their is compression in the piston and feul is getrting into the carb but i am not sure if it is going further then that. anybody have any ideas?

yeah i have ordered a new coil and ht lead, and it trys to start the same as it does when i dont put petrol in the bore.

Hi,
if it does not start or try to start when you put fuel in bore then I would think it is electrical. You coil sounds a bit dodgy. I think you have done the right thing ordering a new one. I would also change HT lead and plug at same time. Connections have to be really nice and tight. good luck!!

i have tried putting feul into the spark bore but it doesnt start how ever my coil is fairly loose on the spark and does not have a rubber seal which covers the whole plug like most coils , i have ordered a new coil and i will test it out but i have a spark it is nice and blue but i am not sure if it is great enough as i am not sure what the spark shoud look like, if there is no petrol going to the bore how could i sort this problem ? cheers chris

Is it sparking all the time a nice blue spark? If not I would change your HT lead and get you coil checked out. One of those problems you will have to try one thing at a time until you find the cause. I would suggest it has something to do with you plug/lead set up. Is you lead nice and tight in coil and cap?
Is fuel getting to your cylinder? Take plug out and pop a little fuel in the hole. replace plug and try to start. does it atr for a few secs and conk out. If so it could be a fuel problem
