Hi Does anyone know the size (and shape i.e. hex) of a spanner or allen key etc that i would need to remove the sump plug for an oil change on my car please?

you will need a renault alan key wrench a renault main dealer can order one for you....

If you go to Halfords, they carry 2 sump plugs for Renault. They both have a square key fitting. I would think that the Megane would be the bigger of the two. They are cheap (about £2.50 each) so buy both and return the one that you haven't used! Be very careful when retightening the plug. Renault use a composite aluminium sump and if you overtighten you run the risk of cracking the sump around the plug hole!
