Why is my Murray (425003X8) model 037X88 belt is too loose?

Murray Lawn tractor 425003x8 I hae the belt (037x88) using the instruction but the belt is too big the diagram looks different from the actual deck it is about 6 inches too big, but the specs are right by the style of mower, can this be a differen tdeck all together? Note; there are two sets of pullies not just to one I'm replacing the belt for, this pully set next to the flap does not show up on the diagram I need help

Is the belt around the tension pulley? It's a small plastic wheel on the right rear of the tractor and does it put tension on the belt? If all is routed correctly and belt is to loose, check the spring that goes to tension pulley. Every spring I have to free up parts that should move freely. The tension pulley might be rusted in place or the spring is shot. Lithium spray seems to work the best. I have the same tractor. Bought as a floor model, discontinued for a great price. No manual. This is the first time after 10 years that I had to replace the drive belt (37x88).

you have to go around the furthest pulleys in the back. After that you route your way to the front. Easy to confuse!
