Westwood 12hp rideon mower BRAKES to fix & where are they ?

I have a 12 hp westwood & it has no brakes does anybody know where they are & how to fix them

The brake is mounted on the transmission - it's a 2.5" (approx) disc brake. You can see it on the side of the transmission behind the right-hand rear wheel.

You can assume the linkage is adjusted properly if you have not distrubed it. Wear in the pads is adjusted out using the nut in the centre of the brake assembly. You can just about get to it without removing the wheel.

If the pads are completely gone, the entire brake assembly can be removed by removing the 2 long thin bolts that hold it on. BE CAREFUL - they frequently break off. Use plenty of WD40 and leave for AT LEAST 48 hours to enable it to penetrate.
