Chrysler Neon lx handbrake light keeps coming on?

The handbrake warning light on my Neon lx keeps coming on for a split second just after I set off. It goes off again quite quickly, and does this a couple of times during the first few minutes of driving. Any ideas what this could be? And can it be easily fixed??

Thanks John. Checked the brake fluid level and it was a bit low. Just topped it up and it seems fine now.

This could mean something else....check your brake fluid level - it could be low. Next, the front disc pads could have wear sensors in them which are starting to show. Both of these items are on the same brake warning circuit, causing the lamp to light up.
