Definately leaking best to change as soon as.
Best to get car on set of ramps or jack up as high as possible and put axle stands in. Need to remove mid section of exhaust, remove fuel pipes and pump connection than theres two bands that hold tank in place slacken them off and tank should drop down (try to do it when near empty not as heavy or drain before starting removal)
