How do I change the broken clutch cable on my Mountfield SP470 self propelled lawn mower?
I cannot see how to gain access where the cable goes into the main housing, or where it ends up.
Where do you buy a clutch cable for a Mountfield? I have tried everywhere and they tell me they no longer produce for my model. It is for a MP3 roller drive model.

You can get to the gearbox end by removing the black plastic cover at the back. You will need long nose pliers to connect the spring to the housing. It is a fairly easy job taking about 10 mins.

The cable end terminates on the top of the gearbox which is part of the main axle. Its a swine to get to, and usually I drop the axle down from its housing brackets to get in there....sometimes the drive belt has to be removed first though.
