Zanussi Electrolux Essential 1200. No water getting in ?

Hello

My machine won't fill. I removed metal coins, etc from the filter and checked that the pump is freely turning. It seems that no water is entering the machine. There is a humming noise - the pump turning but the rest of the machine is immobile and silent.

I checked the water supply to the machine and this is good. No water gets past the valves though. Why?

It is only 18 months old.

The model number is ZWF12070W

My wife noticed a burning smell when first the problem surfaced.

Any suggestions welcome.

They have a solenoid operated inlet valve - it lets the water in - they are easy to change. Just follow the water inlet pipe and it will be the thing the inlet pipe connects to.

Some single and some double - not unlike this...

I got the answer below on another site - it works - so posting it now in case it helps someone. :)

UNPLUG
just depending on when you tipped it over if there was water in there could be a problem with the level switch which controls water in and out.
Around the side of the machine at the top is a round device approx 3" dia usually front righ hand corner with a tube going to it and also wires.
Just release the tube from the spigot it is pushed on usually with a spring clip, the switch may be held in the "tub full"position hence no water coming in.
Releasing the tube will let any water residue that is stuck up there drain back down.
then try again.
