do i need to change drive belt when i change the water pumpon ford mondeo 2001 model the belt was changed last m o t in july last year

I would say just as a rule of thumb that if your changing your water pump change the belt as well.
If your going to alot of trouble stripping the car down it,s only an extra £10 if that.

you need to tell more about what engine the car has i would change the belt as the antifreeze in the car can rot the rubber and the other thing is the cam belt if it gone other that it would rot that as well over time and that is one thing you dont want to snap it just piece of mind.
