No suction on hose?

My Dyson DC01 cleans O K on upright position, but has no suction from the hose.

Can you help please.

Look at the bottom of the hose, where it enters the machine...can you see two rubber flaps? Can you flip them open, and allow any bits of rubbish to fall clear?
DC01's main problem - but a good machine, overall.
