How can I restore my flash drive?

I use my flash drive exclusively for storing e-books and assorted other small files. My children droped my laptop and damaged the flash drive and now it says that I need to reformat the drive. Is there any way to restore the files on this flash drive so that I can transfer them somethere. It is a lexar 4G
