Drive belt tensioner on Stiga Villa type V401, 1996?

How does the tensioner for the drive belt to the cutting blades work and can it be adjusted?
Many thanks and I hope you can help!

This drives me crazy.
I have a stiga villa which had been taken apart by its previous owner and assembled incorrectly. He had the tensioner pushing the belt out. I have the drawings and I have tried every way to get my tensioner to work correctly. It uses three belts a season. I can only guess something is missing . The arm has a welded bracket at about 45 degrees with a hole drilled in it which seems to serve no purpose. The tensioner moves across so far it fouls the belt on the other side. Because I cant find anyone else with this machine I cant have a look at the assembly.
The only people who seem to know anything are in credition devon which is too far away.
Would you be intrested in photographing your tension arm assembly from underneath and send them on to me.
