I accidentally cut the electric cable and have not been able to get the trimmer to work even though I have change the olug and not join any cable to the original

Find someone confident with hand tools and with a basic understanding of electricity - ask them nicely to repair it for you. (shorten cable or new cable or in-line plug & socket)

I repaired my mother-in-law's recently - 20 minutes - she was complaining of tinkling feelings in her leg when she used it - the neutral conductor was exposed!
