hello, my car (2003 1.9 golf match TDI) is clanking when i hardlock it to the right. i had it looked at quickly and it appeared to be to do with the air con unit. when i had my mot it was recommended i have the suspension bushes changed soon. any idea what it could be (only does it when turning right also had a small squeal from the fan belt bu dont think thats causing the clank.....help please!!!!!!

if this car is front wheel drive i'll go with your constant velocity joint (CV) is on the way out they start to clonk on a lock,this is a common fault with a FWD car
