Peugeot Vivacity?

I have a T reg Vivacity 50cc only done 2.5k miles - has no problem starting but now as i accelerate it just dies. Sounds like lake of petrol getting to the carb? Anyone got any ideas?

hi alistair, it does sound like a fuel starvation problem. the fuel pump is probably emptying quicker than its filling up so hence it starts ok but does'nt drive. there is a vent in the fuel cap & if this is blocked it will create a vacuum & petrol wont get out. try loosening it a bit, start the bike & see if it drives, that could be the problem. with only a couple of miles on the clock its really a warranty issue, bring it back to the dealer.........happy motoring.
