what is wrong with my Hotpoint Mistral fridge freezer?

Fridgefreezer has been working fine until this morning.
Now freezer has defrosted, fridge is warm. freezer is reading -5c and fridge +18c. Can still hear fan working but divide between bottom of fridge and top of freezer is now becoming very hot. Help.
