my peugeot 406 2ltr auto has stuck in park but still starts just can not move it 2001 model it has been standing nearly 12months

Just to the right of the gear shift in the console is a blanking plug... remove this and insert screwdriver and release shift lock and move gear shift out of park... suggest poss. prob with either brake switch or electromagnetic shift lock switch.. hope this helps..
