Bypass safety on zanussi zce 700 cooker?

zanussi zce 700x fancy stainless steel pile of c***.

Shortly after guarantee expired, the ceramic hobs became 'temperamental'. And have remained so for 5 years, sometimes down to one half-working. Stats have minds of their own. 'Safety' locks in of its own accord. I would like to disable the safety (clicking two ring knobs fully over etc etc). I recently changed the top oven element, and it seems to me that the use of some insulating materials would be a modern spin on oven design, and perhaps stop the rings going shutdown whenever the oven goes past warm.

Any ideas please?

Mines the same, all hobs completely disabled by the CHEC autostop safety feature. One constantly showing with the sybol as hot(?), the others therefore don't work.
Not the best buy I've ever made.

Any suggestions?

Hi ck

Thanks for your answer.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty damn sure there is no cooling fan between the oven and hob - one of the reasons for my comment about the poor insulation.

I'd like to disable the 'safety' because it isn't really safe at all. In fact, due to the temperamental nature of the thing, once the hob rings have decided to play, the wife is often tempted to leave a ring slightly engaged and warm just to minimise the cussing when next it all locks out. That has to be bad!!

Next time I drag it all out from its greasy recess (soon, no doubt), I'll double check the fan thing, but I'm pretty confident of that. It's certainly never worked anyway.

unless you want a potential fire risk don't bypass safety cutouts.this sounds to me like the cooling fan which is between the top oven and the ceramic hob isn't coming on.this could be a faulty cut in stat or a faulty/semi seized or seized cooling fan.check the cooling fan operates by putting the grill on in the top oven on max heat and you should feel air blowing out above top door handle.
