master cylinder on my 406 hdi 52plate diesel is whistling?

Constant sound, high pitch whistle, stops when you apply any pressure on the brake pedal, engine does not effect volume or speed of whistle the sound is continues and constant.

sounds like servo or servo valve is leaking. disconnect servo pipe from servo and temporary blank off. start engine and see if noise goes. if noise goes away then servo valve on end of pipe is faulty, or servo is leaking. hope this helps.
