How can I fix my Dualit 2NG2GB 2 slice toaster?

My toaster will not stay down when pushed down and just pops back up. Checked the fuse is ok

this answer comes from experience.
the element is open circuit. replace it and it will be ok.
break in the element means no power to rest of toaster and parts. ie light and "stay down" yoke (electro magnet).

You will have to gain access to the gizmo inside that holds the mechanism down and switches the power to the elements - you will need to examine it and determine just why it isn't working properly - then you will need to give some thought to resolving the issue.
