how can I Fix the lights on my Saxo 1.1?

the rear lights on my Saxo 1.1 (2000) aren't working on either side unless I switch on my fog lamps, neither is my driver's side break light (not a dead bulb I checked)...what could be the problem here?

Its probably an earth connection...thats the cable connection between the entire bulb holders (called the cluster) and the metal body shell. No connection here means bizarre lighting problems.
