my mondeo takes forever to get going on a cold morning i have had the heater plugs changed but still no joy i had the battery changed still no joy its a1995 1.8 td

Does the lower cable on the fuel pump move?

If not, the waxstat is probally not working. Its 100's at Ford, so try a scrapyard and dont pay over a tenner for it.

Also try www.fordmondeo.org for more help as this is a common occurance amoung the early TD's.

Try double glowing.
- Turn key until glow plug light goes out.
- Turn off and repeat
- Now start.

My waxstat doesnt work, but my car always fires up with double glowing and some throttle. A service may help.
