How can i fix my electric shower?

Recently whenever i turn the isolator switch on for my shower it goes off when i press the power on button on the shower

if your shower has been used a lot it may be more economical to replace it any way, are you in a hard water area? if so its likely that the heating element has become "rocked up" ie surrounded by chalky deposits causing poor water flow/overheating of element. when this happens the casing of the element can split open and expose the heating wires to water causing an earth leakage fault causing the rcd to trip or in more extreme cases the mcb will trip dut to overcurrent. if your shower is of a basic design I would replace it, if its more expensive ie MIRA you can get parts but they arn't cheap.

Tried the water pressure and it didn't work, there must be a fault with the electrics somewhere, as the red light comes on when i turn the mains power on to the shower but the goes out once i press the on/Off button on the shower, only happened over the wknd its worked for the last yr

If you mean the RCD is tripping, you have a faulty shower unit or a wiring fault. Call a qualified electrician, you cannot do this yourself.
