i have a yamaha aerox yq 50 i have put new piston and rings in it it starts but will not idle or rev then it dies and takes a good few kicks to get it started any ideas??

i got told it could be the cyclinder it self but it didnt look scratched or any thing just wonderd before i bought it

hi dave, is this problem your having start after you put in the new piston & why did the ped need a new one in the 1st place? sorry but i have to ask the obvious, did you get the barrel rebored? did you put the right rings in their right grooves on the piston? is the piston direction arrow facing the right way? i'd do a compression test, if the reading is low then there's something wrong mechanically.
