I have an MS390 and WHEN I can get it to run it's a great saw. The ONLY way I can get mine to start withoout flooding is to follow the Stihl starting procedures in the manual but do not use the D-comp button. I've tested this procedure many times and EVERY time I use the D-comp it floods out and I have to go through the hassle of pulling the plug, etc. Bought an ECHO CS-670 and it's a nice machine...starts e-v-e-r-y time.
Hope this helps...
