How can I fix my Mountfield RV40 petrol mower?

It starts ok but when it heats up white smoke comes out of exhaust.

you've either put too much oil in it, or tipped it on it's side to look underneath. You can only tip that model front end up (ie handle on the floor). If you've put too much oil in to start with you need to remove the sump plug in the bottom of the engine, drain the oil and start again.

It's either been overfilled with oil, or turned on it's side. Just check the oil level, and let it burn off.
