Ford Cargo 813 oil leak at rear brake disc?

My cargo is leaking gear oil somewhere round the rear nearside brake disc, the side of the disc to the axle is dry, the side to the wheels is soaked and I can't see where it is coming from, its wet from where the studs are located to the disc, anyone ever have this?

Could there be a leak from the gearbox that is being thrown about by the propshaft ???

Will check the breather today

Had a mechanic check it out and that what he said that there is a hole too let the oil out when the seal goes, won't have too worry about linings geting contaminated as it has pads which are now plastered in oil, makes one hell of a mess. Thanks for the answers.

the reason for oil to come out on outer wheel is it has a metal shroud on hub seal to make oil run down drillings in hub to outer wheel, so that oil dosen't contaminate linings, and also that you can visibly see that there is a leak! by the way make sure you check that axle breather is clear,if not this can also make seals leak.

that sounds like your hub seal is leaking.you are going to need a machnic to fix that problem.
