how do i spilt a front brake disk?

thanks jhon but i dont own any tools like that i have sockets and hammers and a point chiesel carnt go any where as my old disk has big chunks missing from the top so carnt put back on any other ideas!! thanks

just a point- have you removed bolts holding disc to hub!

A difficult one without some sort of gear, Matty - as you really need to weaken the disc to such an extent that it will fracture...hence the need for a grinder and drill preferably. I guess the chunks are out of the disc where you've been hitting it? Careful here then as you don't want to distort the hub that the disc sits on.
